Hastings Organizations
Academic centers
Center for Gender and Refugee Studies (CGRS) was founded in 1999 and has the core mission of protecting the basic human rights of refugee women and girls by advancing gender-sensitive asylum laws, helping advocates successfully represent women in need of protection, and preventing these refugees from being forcibly returned to the countries from which they have fled. CGRS also seeks to address root causes for migration flows, including injustices and human rights violations against women in refugee-producing countries.
Student-run organizations
Hastings International Human Rights Organization seeks to provide the opportunity for all Hastings students to engage in substantive legal work in the area of international human rights.
