Student-run organizations
Crisis Health Initiative has a UCSF chapter consisting of students and faculty contributing to the health and stability of Iraq and other regions affected by crisis. Activities include educational events and a program to sponsor Iraqi physicians to study at U.S. public health schools.
Guatemala Health Initiative at UCSF works to strengthen clinical services and community health promotion in resource-poor communities in Guatemala. Activities include educating about health and human rights in Guatemala and organizing community health projects in Santiago Atitlán.
Interprofessional Disaster Relief Organizing Committee aims to bring students of the different schools of UCSF together to coordinate response to humanitarian disasters around the world, with the goal of recognizing health as a human right.
Iraq Action Group at UCSF is an organization of students, faculty members, and staff with the goal of educating the UCSF community and the public about the health effects of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars on civilians and combatants.
